Terms of Service
Please read these terms before using Face Privacy.
By using our website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Important: What Face Privacy Is — and Is Not
Face Privacy is a privacy rights compliance and data removal service. We help you exercise your existing privacy rights by submitting opt-out and removal requests to third-party facial recognition databases.
Face Privacy is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or act as your attorney. We are not a credit monitoring service. We are not an identity theft protection or identity restoration service. Our service is limited to submitting data removal and opt-out requests to facial recognition databases where such processes are available.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Face Privacy (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Face Privacy is a privacy rights compliance and data removal service. We help users exercise their existing privacy rights by submitting opt-out and removal requests to third-party facial recognition databases where such processes are available. We do not guarantee removal from every database or from public articles and public databases. Face Privacy does not provide legal advice, legal representation, credit monitoring, or identity restoration services.
3. Scope of Removal — What We Can and Cannot Do
Face Privacy submits opt-out and removal requests to third-party facial recognition databases (such as PimEyes, Precheck.ai, FaceCheck.ID, Lenso.ai, Clearview AI, and others) where such processes are made available by those operators. Where a database accepts and processes our request on your behalf, the result is typically the removal or de-listing of your face from that specific database’s search index.
We are not the host of the underlying photos. We do not control the websites, social media platforms, news outlets, blogs, public records, or any other source where the original photo of you is hosted. Face-search engines index publicly available images from across the internet; removing a face from a face-search index does not remove the underlying photo from the website that originally posted it.
Please take into account that we are not liable for the origin of any photo of you, nor are we able to take a photo down from the website it was posted on. All questions and liabilities about the origin, purpose, lawfulness, and data collection practices of any third-party website hosting an image of you must be directed to the operator of that website. If you wish to have an underlying photo removed from a source website, that request must be made to the operator of the source website, not to Face Privacy.
We do not guarantee removal from every database, source website, news article, public record, archive, or cached copy. Removal results vary by jurisdiction, by the policies and practices of each individual face-search engine, and by the legal basis available to you for each specific request. Some databases may decline a request, may re-index a removed face after subsequent crawls, or may not respond at all.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the person you are submitting requests for must be at least 18 years of age, to use our services. By using Face Privacy, you represent that you meet this requirement.
5. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information, to use the service only for lawful purposes, and not to misuse or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You represent that any photograph or document you upload either depicts you, or that you have the legal right to submit removal requests on behalf of the person depicted.
6. Intellectual Property
Face Privacy’s name, logo, and all related materials are our property or our licensors’. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Face Privacy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing: Face Privacy is not liable for the existence, origin, lawfulness, or content of any photograph of you that appears on any third-party website, in any third-party database, in any face-search engine’s index, or in any other location outside Face Privacy’s direct control. Face Privacy is not liable for the actions, policies, response times, or removal decisions of any third-party face-search engine, data broker, search engine, social media platform, or other website.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Face Privacy for iOS — Additional Terms (Apple App Store EULA)
The following supplemental terms apply when you download, install, or use the Face Privacy iOS application (the “Licensed Application”) from the Apple App Store. These supplemental terms are required by Apple Inc. (“Apple”) and are in addition to the rest of these Terms of Service. Where this Section 10 conflicts with another section above for iOS-specific behavior, this section controls.
10.a Acknowledgement
You and we acknowledge that these Terms of Service are concluded between you and Face Privacy only, and not with Apple, and that Face Privacy, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Licensed Application and the content thereof.
10.b Scope of License
The license granted to you for the Licensed Application is a non-transferable license to use the Licensed Application on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The license does not allow you to use the Licensed Application on any Apple-branded product you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the Licensed Application available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.
10.c Maintenance and Support
Face Privacy is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the Licensed Application, as specified in these Terms of Service, or as required under applicable law. Face Privacy and you acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Licensed Application.
10.d Warranty
Face Privacy is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the Licensed Application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Licensed Application to you (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Licensed Application, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be Face Privacy’s sole responsibility.
10.e Product Claims
Face Privacy and you acknowledge that Face Privacy, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Licensed Application or your possession and/or use of the Licensed Application, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Licensed Application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with the Licensed Application’s use of the HealthKit and HomeKit frameworks (which the Licensed Application does not use).
10.f Intellectual Property Rights
Face Privacy and you acknowledge that, in the event of any third-party claim that the Licensed Application or your possession and use of the Licensed Application infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Face Privacy, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
10.g Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
10.h Developer Name and Address
Any questions, complaints, or claims with respect to the Licensed Application should be directed to Face Privacy through our website at faceprivacy.ai/contact. Our developer contact information as listed on the Apple App Store is the legal address of record for notices related to the Licensed Application.
10.i Third-Party Terms of Agreement
You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Licensed Application — including, where relevant, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and any terms of the wireless data service plan over which you access the Licensed Application.
10.j Third-Party Beneficiary
Face Privacy and you acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Service as they apply to your license of the Licensed Application, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms of Service, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms of Service against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
11. Auto-Renewable Subscription — iOS App
When you subscribe to Face Privacy through the iOS app, you are purchasing an auto-renewable subscription processed by Apple through the App Store. The following disclosures are made in accordance with App Store Review Guideline 3.1.2(a):
- Subscription title: Face Privacy — facial recognition database opt-out and removal service.
- Subscription length and content: Each billing period is one (1) month or one (1) year, depending on the plan you select at purchase. During an active subscription, Face Privacy will submit and maintain opt-out and removal requests on your behalf to the facial recognition databases described in Section 3, on a monthly cadence.
- Price: The monthly plan is $9.99 USD per month. The annual plan is $99 USD per year (approximately $8.25 USD per month). Local currency pricing displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase governs the actual amount charged.
- Free trial: New subscribers may be offered a 14-day free trial. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your selected plan begins automatically at the price above. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Payment confirmation: Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iTunes Account) at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial period if a trial was offered.
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price of the then-current plan.
- Managing and cancelling: You can manage your subscription, view renewal dates, and turn off auto-renewal at any time after purchase by going to Settings → [your Apple ID name] → Subscriptions on your iOS device, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Apple does not provide partial refunds for an unused portion of a billing period; partial refund requests are governed by Apple’s App Store policies and must be made directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Privacy Policy and Terms of Use: Subscriptions through the App Store are subject to our Privacy Policy and these Terms of Service. Links to both documents are accessible inside the iOS app on the subscription purchase screen and from the app’s Settings.
- Cross-platform subscriptions: If you already subscribe to Face Privacy on the web through our Stripe billing path, your existing subscription unlocks the iOS app at sign-in — there is no second charge. If you initiate the subscription through the iOS app, billing and renewal are managed by Apple and must be cancelled through Apple as described above; cancelling the App Store subscription does not cancel any separate web subscription you may have started independently.
